Okay, we're getting somewhere. So slowly.

I don't have much to report, unbelievably. I know it's been more than a week since I blogged last, and way back then I was like, "I don't want to jinx it, but I think we've found an apartment." And since then, silence...

So here are the facts:

1.) We have found an apartment!
2.) We've signed the lease, so it really is ours!
3.) It's awesome. It's in a part of Williamsburg we love, in a school zone we love, they allow dogs, and it has a massive outdoor space that's just ours.
4.) Unfortunately, it was a little wonk-ily configured, but the good news was the landlord said it could be reworked a bit to make it work for us, AND we could add a washer/dryer.
5.) But then, unfortunately the landlord offered/insisted on using his construction crew to get the work done, "lickity split".
6.) And then most unfortunately, lickity split is NOT what's happening. These guys are the slowest. They are probably the least professional outfit I've encountered in my last 10 years of running an interior design firm in New York. It's like a clown car and a headless chicken got together and made a construction crew. Nobody knows who's in charge, and everybody's doing the bare minimum to look like they're busy.

BUT. There is a but! They're finally almost finished. They're about 10 days behind schedule, I've spent the past two weeks harassing everybody and anybody I thought could make it move faster, and we're going to end up moving a week later than we'd planned, but... then we'll get to circle back to bullet-point #3 (It's awesome. It's in a part of Williamsburg we love, in a school zone we love, they allow dogs, and it has a massive outdoor space that's just ours) and that will be that!

So-- we're trying to be cool, calm and collected, and you'll have to be too. In the meantime, I'm attaching a floor plan above so you can see what it is we're (not so patiently) waiting for...
